Meet this quarter's spotlight author:

Elle Reid is a UK-based author of paranormal and dark romantasy. A lifelong romance reader with a soft spot for all things paranormal, she fell for dark, twisty romance a few years ago and now writes the kind of book that hits you in the feels.

The characters in her debut series lived rent-free in her head for years before finally making it onto the page, and she hopes they bring readers as much comfort as they've brought her. Elle is a passionate advocate for mental health awareness and a proud ally of the queer community, something that shows in the characters and worlds she builds.

When she's not reading or writing, you'll find her having adventures outdoors, a self-confessed horse girl with a love of remote places to hike.

Those That Don't Exist (Hidden Vampires, Book 1)

A forbidden-love vampire fantasy romance set in a world where vampires are no longer allowed to exist.

Still reeling from the accident that changed her life, Aurora is just trying to find her new normal — until she realises she's being followed everywhere she goes. Ty has been tasked with watching her, keeping a careful distance and an even more careful secret. But the closer he gets, the harder it becomes to ignore the pull between them, and the web of hidden identities and dangerous truths surrounding them both.

Expect forbidden love, high angst, a fiercely protective (and just a little morally grey) love interest, and plenty of secrets waiting to be uncovered. Perfect for fans of True Blood, The Vampire Diaries, and The Handmaid's Tale. Book one of a duet, so brace for a cliffhanger, with Ty and Aurora's happy ever after landing in book two.

Please note: this is a darker vampire romance dealing with mature themes; a full content warning list appears at the front of the book.

Meet our first ever spotlight author:

Jordan Butler is an indie fantasy author from Gibraltar whose work blends emotional character-driven storytelling with dark fantasy, political tension, and mythical creatures. His debut novel, The Sound of the Supernova, explores grief, revenge, identity, and the fine line between humanity and monstrosity through a world where humans gain terrifying animalistic powers through a mysterious force known as Nova.

The Sound of the Supernova follows Jonah, Luca, and Amaya as they are pulled into a brutal conflict that threatens to unravel the world around them. Featuring giant mythical creatures, morally complex characters, and emotionally charged twists, the story combines cinematic action with deeply personal stakes. At its heart, it is a story about what people become when pushed beyond their limits.
